Promoting excellence in speciality food & drink

Great Taste

great-taste-2014-logoGreat Taste is the largest and most trusted awards scheme for speciality fine food & drink.
Putting your food to the test with our panel of over 400 experts is a quick way to get honest, straightforward and impartial feedback from chefs, buyers, food writers and retailers.

Why enter

A one, two or three-star accreditation means your food will stand out on the overcrowded retail shelves. Coupled with the extensive consumer and trade promotion by the Guild of Fine Food it will lead to increased sales and brand awareness.

Quite simply Great Taste encourages greater confidence and commercial success in small businesses locally, regionally, nationally and internationally whilst helping to improve the food and drink of those who don’t quite make the grade.

How to enter

Step 1: Register
First, you will need to register on our new site. Sorry, even current members and producers who have entered our awards before need to do this, but don’t worry, we are moving everything to this login, so you won’t need to do it again.

So, if you haven’t registered already – Register now  and the system will create a password. (All you need is a username and an email address).

Step 2: Login
OK, now you are registered with the site and you should have a username and password. Use this to login to the new MyGuild area, where you will be taken through the steps to complete your Great Taste entry – you can also update entries from the MyGuild area.

How Great Taste works

Over 400 judges working in small teams will judge 10,000 food and drink products this year at over 50 judging days, from April through to the middle of July.  They award one-, two or three-stars to the foods that deserve it and one of the judges on each team captures constructive feedback for the producers who don’t quite make the grade.

This year we will judge in Belfast, the Harrogate Speciality Food Show and at specialist test centres for tea, filter coffee and espresso with the remainder of our judging days at Guild HQ in Dorset.
